About CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a self-help psychological approach, which empowers individuals to make positive changes to their circumstances. By understanding the relationship between thinking, emotions and actions and through making changes to thinking styles and behaviours, powerful and significant shifts can occur through retraining your mind. CBT is particularly helpful in improving self-esteem, confidence, managing low mood, anxiety, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, phobias, social anxiety, panic disorder, weight management and addictions. Testimonials

'For as long as I can remember I have struggled with my thoughts and feelings. I have always had a "glass half empty" attitude, felt immense responsibility for others, been overly sensitive and been unrealistic in my expectations both of myself, family and friends. This has impacted on my relationships and how I have coped with everyday problems and situations.

Prior to engaging in CBT I was "emotionally stuck", I had a complete inability to see a future and dwelled in the past, my mood was very low, obsessional thoughts were controlling me and my relationships were being damaged by my actions.

Through CBT sessions I have discovered and now understand myself, learned how to control my OCD, built on my confidence and learned to change my thinking. This has had amazing impact on my ability to cope with life's ups and downs, has made me appreciate "my lot", assisted me in becoming more decisive and has helped me form strong positive relationships. I now feel more positive, calmer, happier and realistic. I feel in control of my life, love myself and see a fantastic future ahead.'

"Months later I still feel the benefit of the work we did together.  You listened thoughtfully and helped me to look at my life with fresh eyes.  Our sessions introduced me to new ideas and techniques, which I continue to use on a daily basis.  I found the idea of self-compassion particularly powerful and, as a result, I have come through a difficult and challenging time in much better shape than would have thought possible. I'm getting more enjoyment and satisfaction from my daily life, my stress levels are much lower and my relationships more harmonious "
