Marianne Temple & Laura Bateman founded The Mind Curve Edinburgh in 2008. They are both qualified Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology. 

Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology are qualified to treat psychological difficulties and disorders using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). As well as training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) they both have additional training in further psychological interventions. 

Due to The Mind Curve's increasing popularity as a therapy provider we are proud to announce that we have begun expanding our team by working with a number of highly qualified therapists located in different areas across the country. 

Mari Temple, MA(Hons) Psychology, Dip SW, MSc in Psychological Therapies

 


Mari completed her first degree in Psychology at Glasgow University before progressing to a postgraduate Diploma in Social Work at Dundee University. She then worked as a qualified Social Worker for several years before completing a Master of Science in Psychological Therapies (CBT) at Dundee & Stirling University, training within Psychology at NHS Lothian. Since qualifying as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology, Mari has gained valuable experience in both the public and private sector. Mari has experience of working with a wide array of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, weight managment, eating disorder, addictions, phobia, social anxiety, self esteem, low motivation,  managing illness, loss and change as well as domestic violence. Mari has additional training in Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy, Person-centred Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Imagery Based Work, Compassion Focused Therapy and Positive Psychology. Mari has a particular interest in Positive Psychology and Compassionate Mind Training. Mari is also passionate about using her psychological skills in developing countries and recently visited Uganda to train a group of Counselling Psychologists in CBT.

Laura Bateman, BSc(Hons) Psychology, MSc in Psychological Therapies

 


Laura completed her first degree in Psychology at Edinburgh University, before completing an MSc in Psychological Therapies (CBT) at Dundee and Stirling University. She trained as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology within the NHS in Edinburgh under the supervision of Clinical Psychologists. Since qualifying Laura has worked in both the public and private sector. She has worked with individuals suffering from a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, addictions, weight management, phobias and obsessive compulsive disorder. She has also worked within organisations training and managing staff in various aspects including interviewing skills, difficult conversations, motivational interviewing and suicide management.

Moira O'Fee, BA(Hons) Psychology, PGCE, MSc in Psychological Therapies

Moira completed her first degree in Psychology and subsequently worked for several years within NHS Clinical Psychology Services in South Lanarkshire and West Lothian. More recently she completed a Master of Science in Psychological Therapy (CBT) at Dundee & Stirling Universities, training within Clinical Psychology Services at NHS Lothian. Moira is a qualified Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology and has experience of working with a wide array of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, stress-management, agoraphobia, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, weight managment, phobias, social anxiety and self-esteem problems. She has a particular interest in anxiety and anxiety-related disorders, and in Positive Psychology.  Moira has additional training in Motivational Interviewing, and Schema-Focused Therapy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In accordance with the British Psychological Society guidelines all our therapists are supervised regularly by Chartered Psychologists. They all adhere to the code of ethics and conduct of the British Psychological Society and British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies. All are graduate members of the British Psychological Society and are also members of the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Therapies. All hold professional indemnity insurance.
